The Paekakariki Express will have his own exhibition at the Paekakariki Rail and Heritage Museum this month, with boots, shirts, fan mail and photos on display.
Museum trust treasurer Lynn Piercy said the Christian Cullen exhibition, starting September 17, is timed to coincide with the Rugby World Cup and will be held from 11am till 3pm from Thursday to Sunday until the end of October.
Ms Piercy said with Cullen growing up in Paekakariki, and his parents still living in the town, he was the perfect player to use to showcase the life of a rugby player, she said.
"We talked to his parents and they have been kind enough to supply us with a lot of memorabilia from when he was playing.
"There are photos of course, cartoons on display from any disputes, some of his jerseys, posters, the caps they get given with the All Blacks."
To top the exhibition off, Ms Piercy said a large number of colourful letters sent to Cullen when he left New Zealand for Munster in 2003 would also be on display.
"Some people were really upset he was leaving, but no- one was stopping him. There is the most tremendous fan mail."
Ms Piercy said entry for the exhibition at Paekakariki Railway Station will be free, with donations accepted.
